BUILDING UPDATE:
In July 2010 We officially broke ground on our new Church home near the Carnes Crossroads area located between Summerville and Goose Creek, S.C.
We are proud to announce that on December 18th 2011 we celebrated with our first official service in our new Church Sanctuary located near the Carnes Crossroads area. Out Of The Ashes
Carnes Crossroads Relocation: The August 18, 2006 fire that destroyed our sanctuary and pre-school gave us an opportunity to take a comprehensive look at the needs of our church and the Northwood Academy Lower School campus. After months of prayer and reviewing every option for rebuilding and remodeling, we truly believe that God has opened a door for us to bring together and build the church facilities and relocate the school on the same property located in Berkeley County.
The Daniel Island Company has donated acreage in their newest planned community at Carnes Crossroads in between the Summerville and Goose Creek area. Northwood Academy is honored to have been chosen for their new development. This acreage is sufficient to bring together our church, school and athletic complexes into one master-planned campus. Carnes Crossroads is located at the intersection of Highways 176 and 17A – the heart of future Tri-County growth.
Our current timeline for Phase 1 which is the construction and move of the Church, Business Offices and Youth facilities was just completed in January 2012. The Lower and Upper School along with comprehensive athletic facilities will follow later. These plans will be implimented in phases and are tentative as there remains many decisions still to be made. As plans are finalized and details are known, we will be updating this website to keep our church and school families informed.
