Children

With an understanding that children are a high priority to you, as parents, and to God, Northwood has devoted a vast amount of attention along with essential resources into our children’s ministries. Our vision is to partner with you in extending and developing your child's faith and understanding of God's love through age appropriate teachings as well as special ministries for every child, at all ages.

Nursery
A nursery for children between the ages of six weeks and three years is available for all services. To help ease parental concerns, we utilize a central registration desk to sign your child in and collect their security tag. Our nursery is located in the Chapel Building.

Kid’s Town
The white picket fence is a "welcome" sign to all entering the friendly neighborhood of Kid’s Town. Parents are sure to notice that teaching styles for children have surely changed since they were kids... innovation and creativity are gateways providing an enthusiastic approach for learning and growing in the Lord. Little faces come to life as they view the spectrum of bright colors filling the room ... they become wide-eyed with intrigue and eager to investigate the stage with its downtown storefronts. And they usually can't wait to share with you that they saw a talking tree. Just so you don't feel left out, Mom and Dad are always "welcome" to sit in anytime for the experience.

We hope on your next visit you'll stop by Kid’s Town (grades K4-5th) and allow our greeters, workers, and leadership team the privilege of getting to know you and your child.

Missionettes (girls; K5 - 6th grade)
Rainbows (boys/girls; K4)

MissionettesThe Missionette program at Northwood Assembly is a program to train girls to become Godly women. Beginning at age 4, and ending at 12 yeas old, teacher take the girls through Bible stories, memory verses, and practical everyday lessons of life. Following a pre-produced workbook, the teacher walks the girls through a variety of units. Each unit is centered around a topic or theme (friends, cooking, salvation, fruits of the Spirit, caring, music, etc.). Our prayer is that every girl who completes the entire program will have the foundation needed to become Godly women.

Missionettes (K5-6th grade girls)
Meeting Times: Wednesdays @ 7:00 PM

Discussion oriented lessons center around age appropriate themes such as peer pressure, attitude, self-esteem and accountability. Girls make their way up the Stairway of the Stars ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM as they complete units in the four worlds:

  • World About You (Activities); and,
  • World Within You (Character Development).

Beginning in the 7th Grade, girls join the youth group of Northwood Assembly, "24/7".
