About Us
>>> Meet the Staff <<<
Northwood Assembly is an interdenominational church which simply means we are a fellowship of ordinary people who come from many backgrounds, ethnic groups and varied religious upbringings. We are committed to be a place where people from all walks of life can come together, be accepted, loved and challenged to be all they were created to be.
Mission Statement
To extend the Kingdom of God throughout the tricounty area by making fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ, of unchurched people.
Vision Statement
To reach unchurched people and introduce them to Christ by loving them as they are, accepting them where they are and introducing them to God's forgiveness.
Philosophy of Ministry
A commitment to relevant Bible teaching. We are committed to equipping believers, through the preaching and teaching of God's Word, to follow Christ in every sphere of life.
A commitment to prayer. The ministries and activities of Northwood Assembly will be characterized by prayer and their conception, planning and execution.
A commitment to be a New Testament Church. We are committed to being a New Testament Church in every area of the church. To allow Jesus to lead us in our plans and to follow His leadership in implementing His plans. To only do the things that give glory to God. To build this church on Biblical principles.
A commitment to small groups. We are committed to small group ministry as one of the most effective means of building relationships, making disciples, stimulating spiritual growth and developing leaders.
A commitment to excellence. In the ministries of this church, we seek to maintain a high standard of excellence to the glory of God. This will be achieved by every person exercising his or her God given gifts to the best of his or her ability.
A commitment to growth. We believe God desires for us to reach as many people as possible with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. therefore, we will pursue ways and means which will facilitate numerical growth without compromising in any way our integrity or our commitment to the Biblical and spiritual growth of the individual.
If you want to get to know us a little better, we’d like to invite you to our Newcomer’s Reception/Church 101. Held quarterly on a Sunday afternoon, this gathering provides both a brief overview of who we are as a church while giving you a chance to meet our Sr. Pastor, Fred Richard, and his wife, Soni. Click on the Calendar to reference our next scheduled session.
Baptism
At Northwood we know people often have questions regarding baptism. Why should I be baptized? I’ve already been baptized, do I have to do it again? Does it matter if you are sprinkled or dunked?
Answers to these commonly asked questions are found in the Bible. We believe it clearly teaches us that baptism is the first step of obedience after making a commitment to Christ. Baptism allows a Christ-follower to communicate to the world their heart-felt commitment to Christ. It is truly a celebration and outward expression of our inward relationship with Christ.
By attending the Newcomer’s/Church 101 class you will hear what Scripture says about baptism and
find answers to many of your questions. We also recommend you attending a connection group after attending Church 101. Feel free
to contact us with any questions.
